About the Artist
I was born in Yorkshire, England in 1958. My mother was a talented writer and my maternal grandfather a sculptor.
My ambition to express myself through dance was thwarted by a series of ridiculous accidents and I left England for Paris and Vichy where I lived and worked for several years.
I discovered a passion for writing during this time as my diary became my confidante. On a working holiday in Corsica I met, and later married a French musician and together we wrote songs.
Returning to England I deepened my studies of the Western Mystery tradition which are a major influence on my daily life and work.
Painting came accidentally during my partner’s last illness and several lucky breaks had me painting murals for high profile developments.
I was asked to produce designs for charity cards and bistros, much to my surprise, and was commissioned to paint by private collectors.
To this day I am aware of the lack of technical skill and I am constantly surprised and honoured that people wish to live with my work!
My main talent is capturing the essence of dreams recounted to me, in symbolism and colour.
Early in 2008 'Door of Dreams' won the David Burland Poetry Prize and I will also compose poetry to encapsulate a vision or dream.
I now live in a village in Buckinghamshire with my partner and three of our five children.
I am currently working on my first fantasy novel mainly to see what happens next.
I teach Creative Meditation techniques via the internet with one to one feedback.
